‘People will see me become double my size in my next film’

Actor Salman Khan says he is getting bulkier for his upcoming film

It’s a well known fact that actor Aamir Khan has put on weight for his upcoming film in which he plays a wrestler. And now, actor Salman Khan (left) who, too, has been beefing up for his role of a wrestler in his upcoming film, says his fans can expect to see him in a much bulkier avatar. “The audience will see me become double my size. My training for the film has started; so I need to get bigger and fitter for the role,” says Salman.

The actor, who also teamed up with filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya after 16 years for his upcoming film, says that while he puts in his best in every film, he does not try to predict how the film will fare at the box office. “If it (my film) has to work, it will work, and if it doesn’t have to work, it won’t. My job is to do my best, publicise my film as much as I can, and hope that my fans really enjoy the movie. After that, it is up to the audience whether they like the flick or not,” adds the actor, who recently produced the Sooraj Pancholi-Athiya Shetty starrer Hero.

While he continues to work in the reality space on the small screen, Salman is yet to take on a fiction show. The actor says that the remuneration is one of the reasons why actors prefer films over television shows.

“It’s always the monetary thing. If those TV shows start paying as much as you are getting in films, then I think people will start doing TV the same way they are doing films,” he says, adding, “And since the TV industry is almost ten times bigger than the film industry, I don’t see why that doesn’t happen.”
