Actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are set to play historical characters in their next. And the now-gen actors say that holding on to tradition is a really cool thing to do. “No matter how much we’ve progressed over the years, we’ve (young Indians) retained our culture and tradition. For me that’s the coolest attribute and it gets even more pronounced when I travel abroad,” says Dippy. The actor, who along with rumoured boyfriend actor Ranveer Singh, is featured in Vogue India’s October 2015 edition, finds a supporter of her views in Ranveer. “The fact that we can remain rooted in tradition and yet evolve with the times (that is the coolest thing about young India),” adds Singh. In fact, for Dippy, her coolest pick from her designerwear-stuffed wardrobe is “A mauve and gold coloured kanjeevaram my mother gave me”.

Talking about cool icons, Deepika says that for her, cricketer Rahul Dravid and Infosys co-founder Narayan Murthy are the coolest Indians alive. For Ranveer however, the choice is singular, and without a doubt, actor Amitabh Bachchan. “For a true-blue Hindi movie fanatic like me, it’s Amitabh Bachchan,” he says.
