‘Being fat is a blessing in disguise’

At a time when everyone in showbiz is sweating it out to get that perfect body, actor-comedian Bharti Singh (above) is quite happy about being on the plus side.

The 29-year-old reality TV star said she does not mind being overweight as it has proved to be a blessing. “When I came to Mumbai seven years back, I hated being heavy but now it has become my USP. I never try to diet. To be successful, talent matters, not weight,” she says, adding, “When I see people laughing at my jokes, I feel so special. It is more important than the fame I’ve achieved.”

Bharti, who starred in Akshay Kumar’s Khiladi 786 and the Punjabi film Jatt & Juliet 2, has got a lot of film offers, but prefers TV. “I don’t know when I’ll do movies. I have so much work that I have no time for anything else. I love TV — all TV characters are so popular,” she said.
