Having successfully battled his struggle with stuttering, actor Hrithik Roshan (left) says he wants his two sons—Hrehaan and Hridhaan—to be not affected by fear but to muster strength and overcome the odds.

The 41-year-old star, who will soon be seen as a host on the small screen, said the idea behind the series is to put forth the achievements of people who overcame difficulties to become heroes.

“When we see newspapers or news channels, the focus is on horror, negativity. I would not want my kids and the youth to be moulded by fear ... the idea is to show achievements of people. One should evoke hope in people’s heart,” he said at the show’s launch.

Hrithik has spoken about overcoming his problem of speech disorder, stuttering, during his growing up years through intense voice exercises and willpower and he believes that everyone can fight their demons if they gather the courage to do so.

“Everybody wants to be a hero. I, too, managed to become a hero. To be a true hero is something else. Human beings survive all odds. We all have that inner strength. There are times when we are lost and confused ... we fail but we all have ability to rise and defeat,” Hrithik said.

Talking about the show, he says, “It is not just a television show. We have outstanding heroes on the show. Their stories are heart-wrenching, they are incredible human beings. I feel proud to be associated with the show.”

The actor was last seen in Bang Bang! (2014) alongside actor Katrina Kaif.

The Agneepath (2012) star said he connected with the show’s “motivational” theme and agreed to come on board instantly.

When asked about other shows with similar concepts, Hrithik said it is good to have such shows on the small screen as they spread awareness and are not something to be seen as competition.
