Bhajji-Geeta set for new innings
On the field, he’s known to spin the ball with much gusto, but on his mehendi and sangeet function, cricketer Harbhajan Singh brought that spin effect off the field too.
At Bhajji and actor Geeta Basra’s mehendi and sangeet function held at the cricketer’s hometown Jalandhar on Tuesday evening, there were performances by Geeta’s sisters, as well as singers Gurdas Maan and Mika Singh. The couple danced to Dil Da Mamla, Tu Mera Hero, Saawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag and Mauja Hi Mauja. In tune with the true-blue Punjabi décor, the bar was shaped like a truck. The food, which had the usual Punjabi delicacies, also included Continental and Chinese cuisine. Bouncers at the entrance made sure that no one was allowed to enter without an invitation card. “What a sangeet night! enjoyed it with family and friends! thank you @gurdasmaan nd @MikaSingh for making it special (sic),” Bhajji tweeted.
The wedding ceremony is today, while there’ll be a Bollywood-themed cocktail party at Bhajji’s friend’s farmhouse in Chattarpur, Delhi, on October 31. Sachin Tendulkar, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh are expected to attend. This will be followed by a private party and the reception at a city hotel on November 1.
The sangeet ceremony of cricketer Harbhajan Singh and actor Geeta Basra, which was held on Tuesday at a hotel in Jalandhar, was attended by cricketers RP Singh, Pragyan Ojha and Parthiv Patel. Guests who are expected at the wedding include Nita Ambani, wife of industrialist Mukesh Ambani and Punjab’s chief minister Parkash Singh Badal. A reception will be held in Delhi on November 1, which will reportedly be attended by cricketers Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli and many Bollywood celebrities.
