The Wire star has been one of the most controversial names rumored to take on the James Bond mantle. If Elba does succeed Daniel Craig as the next 007 agent, he will become the first black actor to play the prestigious roles. While author Ian Fleming wants Elba to play the role, the star himself joked that he does not look good enough to play the part. “Isn’t 007 supposed to handsome? Glad you think I’ve got a shot! Happy New Year, people,” he had written on his Twitter timeline last year.
