Actor Ranveer Singh (right), who plays the protagonist in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film, said he is nervous about how people would react to his portrayal of Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao. The 30-yearold actor is nervous about the audience accepting his character in the film. “There is nervousness about how peo- ple will react on seeing my character. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been working on this film for 12-15 years. Lot of hard work, blood, sweat has gone into it. We all have collectively worked on this film,” Ranveer said.

“We are trying to give people something memorable ... something that people would cherish. We are nervous about how people will react to the film,” he added. Ranveer plays Peshwa (Prime Minister) Bajirao of the Maratha Empire. The film narrates the story of Bajirao and his second wife Mastani played by actor Deepika Padukone. Priyanka Chopra plays Bajirao’s first wife Kashibai. “For quite sometime I have been staying under a rock. I am far removed from everything else that is happening. I have my singular focus to play Bajirao with all my abilities because it’s one in a life time opportunity and I had to do justice to the role,” he said.

“Everything in my life has taken a backseat. I am not even in touch with any of my friends... Not got enough time to spend with my family, but all of them are very understanding,” he added.
