If you’re an EDM lover, you’re likely to have heard his mixes. Remixing for the likes of Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Madonna and LMFAO among others, Dutch DJ R3hab (real name: Fadil El Ghoul; right) has performed at nightclubs across the world, and expects only one thing from his audience — energy!

“I’m the type of guy who interacts with the crowd. For me, performing is not only playing amazing music, but about the whole experience. It’s my workout basically,” says the record producer, who will perform in Gurgaon on November 15 as part of Sunburn City Festival. “People in India are very warm and welcoming,” adds R3hab, who has performed in India earlier as well.

Talking about his music, the man behind hit tracks such as Pump The Party and Revolution says that his beats draw inspiration from his Arabic background. “My parents are from Morocco... We call it (my kind of music) Chainsaw Madness. Now, why is it called that? You better listen to my music and let it speak for itself,” says R3hab, whose favourite in the music industry is Dutch DJ Afrojack. “Afrojack has been a mentor to me. Also since we started the chainsaw madness,” says the 29-year-old artist.

What’s his take on the EDM scene in India? “It has evolved a lot. We’ll see if there is an opportunity for collaborations with Indian artists on this tour,” says R3hab.
