Salman not interested in Hollywood

-

Actor Salman Khan (right) says that he is not keen on trying for a Hollywood project due to the language factor and the fact that it will take time to establish a reputation there. “I like to work in India a lot and I like to deliver dialogues in Hindi. Suddenly, after delivering Hindi dialogues for so many years, if I start uttering lines in English, it would look a bit weird on me. I’m very happy being here,” said Salman at a press meet for his recently released film.

“They (Hollywood stars) work extremely hard, but we don’t need to work that hard here. If I start working there, I’ll have to establish respect for myself again. When I’m already receiving so much respect here, then why do I need to go there? It’s taken so many years to earn respect here,” added the Dabangg actor.

The speculation regarding whether Salman might be interested in Hollywood or not was prompted by the claim of the makers of his latest film that its opening collections in the US were better than the Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie starrer, By the Sea.

Salman feels that the Indian film industry needs to grow to the level of the West. “Bollywood should grow so much that there should not be any comparison between them (Hollywood) and us. Our film has broken the records of films there and that is a moment of joy for everyone. And that’s what we want, that everyone should be happy,” he said.

But interestingly, Salman is not totally closed to the idea of doing a Hollywood flick. “If it’s a film related to us (Indians), I might do it, but I don’t have any craze for it,” he said.
