Actor Ashish Sharma (left), who was last seen in the TV show Rangrasiya, says he does not want to participate in reality shows as he thinks he cannot contribute to them.

“I am not a good catch for reality shows as I feel that I can’t add to the format. I am a very boring person and I am not cut out for such shows,” he says. “Another thing which I want to stay away from are kitchen soaps. I don’t think I can survive them,” adds Ashish.

The actor, who is currently seen on a mythological show, says that he wanted to be a part of this show as it was a new genre for him. “I have not explored this genre in the past. It is challenging to be a part of these shows. It took me six to seven months to prep for my role. I had to change my body type and hair style. As I am playing such an important character, I have no room to make mistakes. I need to be that immaculate and have really been working on myself,” he says.

Ashish, who has also been seen in TV shows such as Rab Se Sohna Isshq and Chandragupta Maurya, says that he is very choosy when it comes to roles. “I have always tried to do something new as I feel that by taking up newer characters, I get to explore my personality as well. After my last show, I got a lot of offers, but nothing was exciting enough and everything was similar to what I had done before. So when I got this show, I took it up immediately as this was something which I had not done before,” he says.
