Salman Khan wants reclusive Katrina Kaif to open up and relax in public, and sociable Ranveer Singh to err... tone it down
On her 33rd birthday on July 16, actor Katrina Kaif decided to join Facebook, breaking her long-held resolve to refrain from sharing her life on any social network. Not only did she interact with fans on the site, Kat also posted a video of herself roaming about at home.
What prompted Katrina to suddenly turn into a social animal? Advice — from none other than mentor, confidante and dear friend, actor Salman Khan. Advice to get socially interactive. “Of course, the final decision to take the plunge and get on Facebook was her own. But Katrina definitely got some sensible advice from Salman. Part of her reluctance to get on a social platform stemmed from her closeness to (actor and ex-boyfriend) Ranbir Kapoor. Since he stayed away from Twitter and Facebook, so did she,” says a friend of Katrina.
After her breakup with Ranbir, Salman apparently counselled Katrina against her reclusive image. “She had begun to come across in public as a bit of a sulky spoilsport. Salman asked her to lose her chronically surly attitude and relax in public. Hence the birthday party — something she has never arranged before — and the interaction on Facebook,” adds Kat’s friend.
In a recent video that went viral, actor Ranveer Singh was seen dancing with the audience in a Paris theatre where Sultan was being screened. Fans loved it, Salman did NOT. The actor feels it was wrong of Ranveer, who is popular for antics like these, to hog the limelight instead of doing what he was there for — watch a film. He’s mad at Ranveer. How much? These are his words — “I want to kill him!”
“I saw that and I’m going to break a chair or something on his head. Watch a film... don’t start dancing and disturb the film,” Salman said at a recent press conference.
“I was like ‘What is this? He is not watching Sultan, he is making people watch him there. We should have charged money for that,” added Salman.
Ranveer was watching the film at an Indian single screen theatre in the French capital, when he broke into a dance in front of the screen during the movie.
