WANT TO KNOW HOW THE COUPLE MET? READ MORE ABOUT THE WEDDING ON

- Nikita Sachdev

On Friday night, we attended cricketer Ishant Sharma’s wedding celebrations, as he tied the knot with professional basketball player Pratima Singh. While the groom was dressed in a maroon and gold sherwani topped with a traditional turban, the bride looked radiant in a peach lehenga. Wondering how the couple met? “They met when Ishant was invited for a basketball match as the chief guest. They fell in love at first sight! I think they make a perfect match and he calls her ‘Beauty Queen’ lovingly,” said Divya Singh, Pratima’s sister and former captain of the Indian National Women’s Basketball Team. Ishant’s cricketing colleagues also paid a quick visit to congratulate the bride and groom but were caught in a fan frenzy.

India’s limited-overs skipper MS Dhoni entered the venue all suited but he had to make a quick exit afterwards. We also spotted cricketer Yuvraj Singh who arrived sans wife Hazel Keech. Yuvi was clicked with the couple and was also seen sharing a joke with Ishant on stage. BCCI president Anurag Thakur also visited the wedding venue in Gurgaon to congratulate the couple but he arrived only after midnight. Winter-perfect floral décor added warmth to the celebrations, while a live band belted out popular Hindi and Punjabi songs kept the evening going. The food was served in gilded plates with a wide spread of delicacies lined up for the guests. Looks like it’s the season for wedding bells for our cricket team! We wonder who’s next.
