Shahid Kapoor’s warm welcome to Bhansali’s family

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali (far right) managed to pull off a major casting coup, when he announced Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor (right) as the star cast of his larger-than-life film that recently went on floors. While the film has been in the news ever since its announcement , major headlines were made when Bhansali announced Shahid as the hero of the film opposite Deepika. He’ll essay the role of Deepika’s husband, Raja Ratan Singh, a just ruler and a warrior who gave his all to the battlefield, while Ranveer has been cast as the anti-hero and Deepika’s nemesis.

Apart from sharing screen space with Deepika and Ranveer, it’s for the very first time that Shahid will be working with Bhansali. On the first day of his shoot, Shahid was overwhelmed with the warm response he received from the filmmaker and his crew, welcoming him into the Bhansali family.

While the makers are fiercely guarding the looks of the film’s lead actors, a source reveals that Shahid looked spectacular in a royal, never-seen-before avatar. “Special attention is being paid to Shahid’s look and styling in the film. Bhansali (sir) is known to look into the minutest of details and he’s particularly excited about Shahid’s look. Shahid was left speechless when the entire crew clapped and cheered for him after his first shot on the set. Despite it being his first day, he completely felt like part of the Bhansali family,” says a source from the film’s unit.
