‘Amanda Seyfried held her own with Shirley MacLaine’

Seyfried (right) handled sharing the screen with veteran actor Shirley MacLaine, in the film The Last Word.

“I watch this movie with so much pride, because I’m watching my fiancee go toeto-toe with Shirley MacLaine and hold her own,” he said. In the movie, the 82-year-old actor plays a controlling retired businesswoman who wants to write her own obituary. A young journalist, played by Amanda attempts to find out the truth.

Thomas says that Amanda’s positive attitude has helped to make a great film that the audience will enjoy. “I was so impressed with her, how she presented. She came in and said ‘I’m gonna learn from her but I’m going to show up and bring what I bring’ and the two of them hit it off, and you can see it, it bounces off the screen.” The pair are expecting their first child soon.
