A Delhi boy’s chance date with Ashley Judd

When a Delhi boy saw Hollywood actor Ashley Judd’s pictures from her recent Kolkata visit on social media, he dreamt of meeting her. He had no clue that his dream was going to become a reality!

“On Thursday evening, when I visited Nizamuddin dargah, I saw a foreign woman wearing the stole that I had seen Ashley wear in her pictures. She looked like her but nobody recognised her,” says the 28-year-old, who doesn’t wish to be named.

The guy walked up to the woman and as he was about to ask her if she is Ashley Judd, she put her finger on her lips and gestured him to stay quiet. “Don’t tell anyone. I’ll kill you!,” she said.

“I think she was surprised that I recognised her. I have seen a lot of her films and couldn’t resist myself from asking her for a picture with me, to which she said: No, that will create a scene here. But you are very polite. People don’t ask and start clicking,” he says.

The Delhiite says that the actor was graceful and observant during the qawali session at the dargah. “She was introduced to the maulvi by the woman accompanying her. He explained to Judd how to pay respect to Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, the Sufi saint, and she followed the instructions,” says her fan.

“She kept smiling, even though there was a huge crowd and didn’t hide her face. Wish I could have shown her around the place and asked her out for coffee,” he says.
