‘MY SON IS THE MAN’

Hindustan Times (Patna) - Live - - Front Page - Akshata Shetty

Kareena Kapoor Khan has embraced motherhood. The actor, who has been a successful actor, a wife, and is now a doting mother, says she is enjoying this phase of her life. Kareena talks about her son Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi, who is one-and-a-half months old, being the “the most gorgeous man” in India, balancing home and work, and how she can still look “glamorous” in track pants.

How has motherhood been...

It has been an amazing transformation, because when you become a mother, motherhood comes naturally to you. Everything happens organically, and I think that’s exactly what’s happened with me. I was looking forward to this part of my life. I don’t think I have ever been or looked happier.

What is that one thing you would want your son Taimur to inherit from Saif Ali Khan and you?

My son is the most gorgeous man on this side of the equator; in India, technically. You will see soon (laughs).

You made pregnancy look fashionable. Did you have a wardrobe ready?

I don’t really think about what I am going to wear when I step out. I might even walk out of the airport wearing track pants and a sweatshirt. If the fashion bloggers think that’s not fashionable, I don’t care. I can still look glamorous in my track pants.

You are an inspiration to many working women who find it hard to juggle between their work and homes. Do you have any tips for them?

I think women love to multitask. There are more working women out there today than ever before. In my family, my sister (Karisma Kapoor) and my mother-in-law (Sharmila Tagore) have both worked after having kids. I have been inspired by strong women in my family. I have always struck a balance between giving time to Saif and working. I don’t see any difference now.

What’s your beauty regimen?

Honestly, I do not take care. I am blessed with good skin genetically. My mother’s (Babita) skin glows even today. In fact, she should be the brand ambassador of Lakmé. She used their products, even before her daughter endorsed and became the brand ambassador of the brand.
