The debacle of Mr. X (2015) at the box-office left actor Amrya Dastur (left) worried about her future. But, she says that the experience taught her to keep expectations aside and now she firmly believes that hard work will speak for her. “I always wanted to work with Emraan Hashmi. So imagine my happiness when Mr. X was offered to me. I gave my 100 percent but when the film didn’t do well, I was disappointed. But I’ve learnt my lesson now and have decided to work hard and not think about the result. I want my audience to love my films and even if only one person does it, then I’ll feel that my work has paid off,” smiles Amrya, who was last seen in the Jackie Chan starrer Kung Fu Yoga.

The actor says that her Kung Fu Yoga stint has brought her fame and is getting her good offers. “I am taking time to decide on whatever is being offered to me. I don’t want to be just a pretty face on screen,” she says, adding, “As an actor, I am looking for meaty roles. In all my films till date, I actually had proper parts to play, both in Bollywood and films down south,” says the 22-year-old actor.

At the moment, Amrya is working in a Tamil film and if things fall in place, then, she will also sign a Telugu film. “Yes I’m excited about working with Santhanam in the Tamil film (Odi Odi Uzhaikkanum). As far as the Telugu film is concerned, I can’t reveal much about the project,” says Amrya.
