SWEETENER TO USE
Stevia, derived from the herb stevia rebaudiana, can be used as a natural sweetener in herbal teas instead of sugar. Stevia does not elevate blood sugar levels, improves insulin sensitivity, and as it has no calories; it’s completely safe for diabetics.
Honey is natural, but its glycaemic index is higher than that of sugar, and has more calories. It should be used sparingly or avoided altogether.
