Actor Taapsee Pannu became a household name ever since she shared screen space with actor Amitabh Bachchan in the critically-acclaimed courtroom drama, Pink (2016). The film spoke about a woman’s right to say ‘no’ to a sexual advance made against her will.

The film was screened for the Rajasthan Police and later at the United Nations headquarters in New York City. And on Saturday, the entire cast of Pink was invited to the Rashtrapati Bhawan for a special screening of the film for President Pranab Mukherjee. The entire cast of the film, including actors Taapsee Pannu, Amitabh Bachchan, Angad Bedi, Andrea Tariang along with director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and producer Shoojit Sircar was present for the screening.

Speaking about the visit, Taapsee says, “We received a very warm welcome. It was like walking into the largest palace in the world. Soon after the screening got over, we were felicitated by the President. Later, he joined us for dinner, too.”

And Taapsee confesses that she was extremely excited throughout the visit. “An over-enthusiastic kid was jumping inside me thinking how unreal it is to have dinner sitting right next to the President. Even though he was very sweet, warm and interactive, I was very cautious that I shouldn’t violate any protocol.”

During his interaction, the President lauded the film, says Taapsee: “He said that he was really impressed with the message we conveyed through the film and how we presented the issue.”
