Siddiqui excited to work with Nandita Das in Manto’s biopic

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who will be essaying the role of author Saadat Hasan Manto — best known for his gripping short stories — is excited to work with filmmaker Nandita Das in her next directorial. “Nandita Das is an able director and I am looking forward to working with her,” Nawazuddin says.
“Manto was one of the greatest writers of his time. Currently, I am preparing myself to play him. We’ve just released my look as Manto,” the 42-year-old actor explains. He is strikingly resembling the late writer in the first look, which was recently posted on his Twitter.
In her second directorial venture, Das will be tracing the life of Manto, with special emphasis on the period of partition. The film also feature actor Tahir Raj Bhasin as late actor Sunder Shyam Chadda, who was Manto’s friend.
