Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher (right) says he rarely gets to see his wife, actor Kirron Kher (above), let alone spending time with her. Kirron, who became a Member of Parliament in 2014, keeps busy with work related to her constituency, Chandigarh, whereas Anupam remains occupied with his film projects. The couple has been married for over 30 years now. “Ever since she has become an MP, it’s difficult to get time to spend together. We rarely get to see each other,” says Anupam, who is proud of Kirron for her dedication.

“She is totally devoted to her constituency. It’s good that she is spending all her time in Chandigarh, working for its people,” adds the actor, who will be seen reprising his role of Shuklaji in the film, Naam Shabana, starring Taapse Pannu.

The 62-year-old National Award winner — who has done over 500 films — gets a chance to meet Kirron when he is in Delhi or Chandigarh. “Today, I’m in Delhi, so I will get a chance to have a cup of coffee with her. She’s also is in Delhi these days because the Parliament is in session. But then again, I have to fly tonight, so it will only be coffee,” he told us on his recent visit to the Capital, adding: “Sometimes, when I’m in Chandigarh, we spend time together .... You can’t have everything. It’s understandable. We both are busy and love what we do. So there isn’t a problem.”

Anupam and Kirron got married in 1985, and have a son, actor Sikander Kher, from Kirron’s first marriage to Gautam Berry.
