‘SOFT KITTY’ OUT OF LEGAL TANGLE

AUS judge dismissed a 2015 lawsuit claiming that American sitcom The Big Bang Theory borrowed lyrics of its song Soft Kitty without the writer’s permission. The judge said the plaintiffs, Ellen Newlin Chase and Margaret Chase Perry, failed to show they held a copyright on their mother’s lyrics (from the 1930s), and deserved damages.
