Karishma Tanna wishes to turn back time
The actor who was engaged to Upen Patel, says if given a chance, she would undo everything and get her personal life out of public scrutiny
Actor Karishma Tanna (right) doesn’t give two hoots about what people say about her personal life. “It feels terrible when your personal life becomes the focus leaving everything else behind, but you can’t help it. If there’s something exciting going on in my personal life, people will gossip about it,” says Karishma, who created a lot of buzz after she was linked with actor Upen Patel on reality show Bigg Boss (season 8).
The two didn’t shy away from making it public even after the show wrapped up. UpMa, as they were fondly called by their fans, even took their relationship to the next level when they participated on a dance reality show, where Upen proposed to Karishma on national television and they got engaged. But things turned sour and they soon parted ways.
On whether thinking about all this upsets her, Karishma shares, “That’s a part of your life. I don’t know what future holds, so I live in the present moment. Definitely, I was hopeful and positive about a lot of things but if they didn’t happen, there must have been for a reason for that. It’s very difficult but then you have to move on in life.”
Pictures of their London holiday and their romantic moments went viral on social media. Ask her why she chose to be so vocal about her personal life, Karishma replies by saying, it was all in the moment. “Whatever was there between me and Upen was just an extension to what initially started inside the Bigg Boss house in front of crowd and 145 cameras. Otherwise I’ve never been vocal about my private life and if given a chance, I would want to undo everything and keep my personal life my own,” she says. Of late, Upen has been putting up a lot of cryptic tweets and tagging Karishma in them. On being prodded about the same, Karishma maintains a silence and says, “Well, I’d just give you a smiling reaction here. I won’t talk about it because I’m happy where I’m.”
