My initiative is not about making this world better or changing it; it’s about changing yourself HRITHIK ROSHAN, ACTOR

This year started on a great note for Hrithik Roshan, thanks to Kaabil hitting the bull’s eye at the box office as well as getting him critical acclaim. Nowadays, besides “reading one script a day” and spending quality time with his sons, the actor has taken out time to shoot for a motivational video about never giving up. “I’m a student of life and I’m perennially curious,” says Hrithik.

“Kaabil releasing in the 17th year of my career, and people appreciating my performance so much in it gives me a great feeling,” he says. “But I strongly believe that it’s also the time to look ahead, to evolve consciously and see what the possibilities ahead are.” About the scripts he’s reading, the actor says that he’s “excited” about some of them. “I’m interacting with creative people and I must say that I’m enjoying that process.”

Aside from finding the next great role, Hrithik is busy with his public welfare foundation. He and Salman Khan are the marquee names of Bollywood engaged in such initiatives. Musing on it, Hrithik says, “Yes, I do feel very strongly about my initiative, and I’m sure so does Salman. But there’s an essential difference. My initiative is not about making this world better or changing it; it’s about changing yourself. It’s about being the best ‘you’ — physically, mentally and emotionally.”

That brings us to how he’s doing as one of the most eligible bachelors in Bollywood right now. Hrithik smiles and replies, “Honestly, it doesn’t occur to me… there are other bachelors around, who are perhaps more eligible.”

For now, Hrithik is keeping himself motivated to remain at peak fitness. “I’ve come close to giving up my fitness regimen,” he says, “but something inside me didn’t let me do that. I believe that all these learnings can be shared.”
