HAVEN’T SIGNED A NEW SHOW WITH THAT CHANNEL: SUNIL

- Yashika Mathur

Actor-comedian Sunil Grover has refuted reports of signing a new show on the same channel as that of The Kapil Sharma Show, which celebrated its 100th episode last night. Although Sunil confirms that several offers are coming to him, he asserts that nothing has been finalised.

Once colleagues, Kapil and Sunil had a fight, and then the latter quit the show. There’s much curiosity about his next move; a lot of it has to do with the possibility of a rival show.

But, Sunil tells us, “I haven’t signed any show on the same channel or anywhere else, for that matter. I was part of The Kapil Sharma Show and I’ve been out of [it] for some time. I’m a performer and my job is to perform and act. There are offers, but nothing has been decided yet.”

Aworkaholic by nature, Sunil (above, with Kapil) says that he wouldn’t delay his decision on starting a new show for much longer. “I can’t sit idle for a long time,” he says. “My family also asks me why I’m not [doing something]. Mujhe kaam to karna hai, but kya karna hai decided nahi hai (I have to do some work, but haven’t decided what it’ll be).”

In Kapil’s 100th episode, he indirectly thanked Sunil.

Sunil rose to fame after playing multiple characters on the show. He says that he still respects the platform. “Maine jitne 92 episodes kiye, unme bohot maza aaya (I had a great time in the 92 episodes that I did),” he adds. “I have a lot of gratitude for this platform because it gave me a lot of love.”
