Dutt anxious about biopic as reality of the release hits him
Rajkumar Hirani’s next film, a biopic on Sanjay Dutt (right), has been in the news for a while now. Ranbir Kapoor (inset), who plays Dutt in the film, has been photographed on the sets and the uncanny resemblance has taken the Internet by storm.
Dutt himself was reportedly taken aback by the resemblance. Now that the film team has announced a Christmas release, Dutt is growing anxious.
A source says, “On seeing Ranbir’s pictures, Sanjay was absolutely amazed. Before that, the biopic being made was like an idea being discussed. But now that the pictures have surfaced, the reality of the movie being made and taking shape, in order to take his story to the audience, is seeping in. [Dutt] is getting anxious as to how people will react to the story.”
Asked if Ranbir has got his mannerisms right, Dutt says, “It’s really amazing. Ranbir is pretty much there and it’s unbelievable what he’s doing. I
feel Ranbir is one of the best actors we have [today], and to top that, there’s Raju Hirani.”
It was recently revealed that Ranbir will have six different looks in the film. These looks will range from the ones in Dutt’s movies such as Rocky (1976) and Khalnayak (1993), to name a few.
Ranbir also has Dutt’s look while the latter was in prison, along with a few other of the actor’s offscreen looks.
