‘Why Should Ranbir get Married now?’

Asks uncle Randhir Kapoor, who is proud of his nephew’s achievements

Kapoor’s (above, right) break up with actor Katrina Kaif, there has been speculation about his relationship status. A couple of days back, reports claimed that the actor went to London with mom Neetu Kapoor to meet a prospective match.

Recently, when we asked his uncle, actor Randhir Kapoor (above) about the speculation around his marriage, he said: “Ranbir is having a terrific time with all the success and the money he’s got, and age being in his favour too. Why does he have to get married and spoil it all so soon? Shaadi ke liye bahut time hai abhi usko. Let him have a nice time right now. How is his relationship status anybody’s concern or business anyway?”

Randhir shares a cordial bond with nephew Ranbir and says “At times, I envy him because I was nowhere at his age... the kind of success and moolah he’s got. He’s doing well and I’m so proud. Little ups and downs are there in everyone’s career, so that’s completely alright.” Ask him if he’s happy the way the younger Kapoors are taking forward the family’s legacy, the 70-year-old sounds reassured and points out, “My two daughters [Karisma and Kareena] and [nephew] Ranbir are successful.”

Do constant comparisons between Ranbir and his father and uncles bother him? “It’s okay to compare and I don’t care, honestly. There’s so much talent in the family that you’ll be left surprised every time. Our kids haven’t just surpassed us, but they’re doing so well for themselves.”
