Aamir hasn’t had a flop since Mela in 2000
Actor Aamir Khan (right) is often referred to as Mr Perfectionist because of his well-planned career moves. He feels that while his creative involvement in each film has always been the same, he did go through a learning curve.
He says, “It has been 27 years that I have been acting. Very early in my career, I went through a phase that was a huge learning experience. The level of input in my films, has been the same right through, but I made mistakes.” He attributes his success to early failures. “So, what I am today is not just the result of my successes, but also because of my failures. They taught me the most. That’s why I have been able to build my career the way I have,” Aamir adds.
The actor, 52, has not had a flop since Mela in 2000 and while Mangal Pandey (2005) was not a grand success, it managed to recover its costs.
His list of successes has blockbusters like Lagaan (2001), Dil Chahta Hai (2001) Rang De Basanti (2006) Taare Zameen Par (2007), Ghajini (2008), 3 Idiots (2009) Dhoom 3, PK (2014) and Dangal (2016).
