Actor Sanjeeda Shaikh (left) started her journey on the small screen with Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa. The show was a success and since then, the actor has been a part of quite a few fictions and non-fiction shows. Describing her small screen journey as amazing, Sanjeeda shares that the manner in which the TV industry is growing, there is work for everyone.

“I feel fortunate to be a part of the industry that has given me so much. Somehow the shows that I did were destined for me and they happened one after the other. I didn’t have to try too hard. Audience has always appreciated my work and has been there for me,” says Sanjeeda, who is married to actor Aamir Ali.

Often actors talk about the difficulties that they face to survive in the industry.

Ask Sanjeeda about it and she says, “It takes time to find a foothold in the industry but one has to continue trying. The industry is massive and is growing each day. So there is space and work for all of us. One should not lose hope.”

The actor also feels that if one wants to make a name, he or she must believe in healthy competition.

“It’s important to understand that everyone has their own journey. I don’t believe in competing with other actors, rather I compete with myself and try to make my art better. It’s the healthiest way to deal with competition and achieve success,” adds Sanjeeda, who believes only dedication can dictate one’s success. ■ shreya.mukherjee@htlive.com
