Actor Swara Bhaskar (right) doesn’t shy away from learning new things. Whether it’s for the roles she portrays in her films or anything that she comes across in real life, the actor is always ready to pick up new skill sets. Joining the nationwide frenzy for Baahubali: The Conclusion, the actor, who watched the Telugu version of the film, decided to learn the language.

According to a source, the actor has watched the film 10 times and to get her dialect right. Swara sought help from her father, who is fluent in Telugu, to learn the language with proper diction.

Ask her what pushed her to learn the language, and she says, “My dad is from Andhra, so I’m half Telugu. However, since, we lived in Delhi, we never spoke the language at home and I couldn’t pick it up well. It was a shortcoming that I used to feel bad about.”

Though the 29-year-old says that the desire to learn Telugu was rekindled after watching Baahubali, it wasn’t the only reason. “I always had a desire to learn, as the language is a part of my cultural heritage. The obsession for the film acted as a catalyst,” she says.

Now that Swara has picked up the language, is she open to do Telugu films also? Answering this query, she says, “Well, I think now I will actively pursue the same. Though I’ve not got any offers for regional films till now, I’d never turn down a film for its language. I’d take it as a challenge and opportunity and learn new things.”
