Do you love nature and its earthy hues? Let that fondness also reflect in the personality of your home. Here are simple ways to incorporate the colours of nature in your humble abode.

GOLD

Gold is a warm and muted shade, an unpolished hue that’s sophisticated. Gold is bright enough to attract attention while also subtly referring to the past and the colour of the earth, enabling it to be worked into homes as a subtle yet stimulating visual statement. Rich, calming, and timeless, it’s the perfect colour to add to the home’s common areas such as bedroom, living room to create a cosy appeal. You can also use it as an accent shade in the bedroom and bathroom space.

BROWN

From darker shades of coffee and chocolate to lighter shades of chestnut and light walnut; browns create a cosy feel. Opt for decadent chocolate browns to transform the space into a luxurious corner. These gentle colours are versatile, and can be adapted to a wide range of furniture styles.

YELLOW

Another versatile colour, yellow is a sign of hope and beauty of the silky rays from the summer sun. A zesty and vivacious colour, yellow can be used to bring a modern as well as a traditional touch to the space that you’re living in. Colours such as lemon zest or sorbet lemon when balanced well with optimum sunlight can bring that visible shine and exuberance in a bedroom. Bold yellows are refreshing and conducive to creativity and black/metal furniture complements the walls best to create a stylish colour scheme. Darker hues of yellow also complement the natural tones of teak or rosewood wonderfully.

GREY

Sleek, sophisticated, and stylish, greys often rank high on the cool factor. Walls painted in dark grey are far less imposing than black, but are equally bold as a décor statement. If moody interiors appeal to you, reflect your taste by exploring darker, sultry grey hues. If you like just a dash of drama in your interiors, look to light grey as a wall accent colour as it will create a stunning backdrop for metallic finishes and woody neutrals such as light brown without overpowering them.
