Actor Elli Avram (far right) created quite a buzz, when she appeared on the reality show Bigg Boss season 7 in 2013. While she was gearing up for her Bollywood debut with Mickey Virus (2013) at that time, it was her proximity with the host of the show, actor Salman Khan (right) that garnered much attention. The film failed at the box office, but four years on, the show still holds a special place in her heart.

“Bigg Boss changed my life. From an unknown face I became a household name. I’ve travelled around the world and people have recognised me as Elli from Bigg Boss.”

Salman’s fondness towards the 26-year-old in and outside the show was evident as she was often spotted at his family gatherings and parties. Photos on social media even lead to link-up rumours. Reacting to them, Elli says, “I don’t bother; I just laugh at them. I don’t even acknowledge them because I think it’ll only lead to more gossip. If they want to talk about it, I cannot stop them.”

Elli, however, adds that she has found a close friend and confidante in Salman. “He gave me a lot of attention on the show. There’ve been times when I was stuck while taking a decision. He guided me and I’m grateful for that,” she says.

In the past, rumours floated that Elli had received offers in Bollywood because of Salman. Rubbishing them, the actor clarifies, “It’s all such a big lie. My only godfather is my biological father. My parents have supported me, whether it’s mentally or financially. So, all the credit for my success goes to them and no one else.”
