I may marry in my 30s: Sidharth
Sidharth Malhotra has been part of various genres: drama, action, and rom-coms. Now, the actor will be seen in a completely different avatar in Aiyaary and the modern adaptation of Ittefaq (1969). In a quick chat, he talks about his future plans, film production, marriage and more.
Besides the genres you’ve dabbled into, if you were now offered a biopic, a period film or a super-hero flick, what would you like to explore first?
If I have to pick, for me, it is all about reinventing something and getting a genre back. Maybe I get to do a period film where the character plays a sport and even has super hero powers (laughs). So yes… all three.
Where do you see yourself five years from now?
I definitely see myself continuing to act on screen — doing different kinds of roles and different genres.
And any plans of marriage?
Well that I don’t know. My mum would be happy. That’s something I have not planned and you can’t plan it. No offense, but I don’t get the whole sanctity of getting people arranged (for marriage). I rather know the person who I will settle down with. But if I had to put a cap on it, maybe in my 30s I will get hitched.
Would you ever like to get into direction or film production?
I think that will happen. We are all storytellers. I would like to inspire people and tell more stories. I would never refuse a film or do a film for an x amount of money. If there is a story I can contribute to by being a producer, I will tell that
story 100%.
