RANBIR SET TO LAUNCH HIS COUSIN TODAY
Aadar Jain, also a grandson of Raj Kapoor, is being launched alongside Delhi girl Anya Singh, who’ll be introduced by Anushka Sharma at an interactive event
In cinema, the infusion of new blood is always welcome. Two new faces that are being launched with much fanfare today are Aadar Jain (bottom) and Anya Singh. They are being introduced to the world at a special interaction and media event in Mumbai. The two newbies were ‘discovered’ by the talent-spotters of filmmaker Aditya Chopra’s production house.
What’s really interesting here, as we’ve learnt, is that Ranbir Kapoor (below) and Anushka Sharma will introduce Aadar and Anya, respectively. Aadar is Ranbir’s cousin, they both being the grandsons of the legendary actorfilmmaker Raj Kapoor. Aadar is the younger son of Reema Jain, the second daughter of Raj Kapoor and sister of Ranbir’s father Rishi Kapoor.
An insider tells us that Aadar is well prepared for Bollywood. “An alumnus of the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, New York, Aadar also assisted Farah Khan on [the film] Happy New Year and Karan Johar on Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Thereafter, he auditioned for a film by Habib Faisal (who also launched Arjun Kapoor in Ishaqzaade alongside Parineeti Chopra),” says an insider.
As for Anya, she is a Delhi girl who has moved to Mumbai to follow her dream of becoming an actor. She had a year-long stint with the film world and acting,
appearing for auditions, before she bagged Habib Faisal’s film. Ranbir, Anushka, and representatives of Chopra’s production could not be contacted for a comment.
It’s noteworthy that Aadar and Anya’s debut brings back the focus on the insideroutsider debate in Bollywood. While Aadar is the consummate insider, Anya is a typical outsider, who has always been confident of making it on her own steam.
