Bollywood actors laugh off cosmetic surgery rumours
Clothes, makeup or cosmetic surgery — female actors in Bollywood are always under scrutiny for their appearances. And recent reports of Priyanka Chopra, Shruti Haasan, Sonal Chauhan and Ayesha Takia, allegedly going under the knife, to look different, has sparked a fresh debate. However, the actors have hit back at the trolls. On June 4, actor Priyanka Chopra posted a close-up photo of her face on social media, and drew flak, as people commented that she had got a lip augmentation done. One follower commented, “Why do they even get their lips done! They look so weird.?” Though Priyanka hasn’t commented on this instance, she has previously addressed the issue of trolling and said, “I don’t care. I get so much love from people on social media – I focus on that.”
Actor Sonal Chauhan, who was rumoured to have undergone a lip job, says that celebrities are human too, and can have their off-days. “When I read those reports, it was hilarious. You can have a bad make-up day. We are humans and there could be days when you put on some extra weight. But that does not mean that you have done something to your lips. Honestly, looking at those pictures, I didn’t see any difference in how I look,” says Sonal.
Earlier this year, actor Ayesha Takia made headlines when a picture suggested that she had got Botox and lip fillers done. Commenting on this, Ayesha earlier told us, “I just laughed it off. These people, who say all sorts of stupid things while judging us, are not even known by their names.”
Actor Shruti Haasan, who was spotted with fuller lips, during the promotion of her film Behen Hogi Teri, said, “It’s my face, my body. What I do with it, is nobody’s business.”
