Nostalgic weekend for a trio of old friends
They last worked together 21 years ago, when the last sequence of Judwaa (1997) was shot. Now, more than two decades later, the trio — actor Salman Khan, and filmmakers Sajid Nadiadwala and David Dhawan — has come together for the sequel to that hit film, starring Varun Dhawan. While Varun plays the lead in this film, Salman has a special appearance. An insider says, “All [three] of them had a highly nostalgic weekend of sorts when they reunited last weekend, when Salman shot for his portions. In fact, when he was approached for the special appearance, Salman readily agreed, since he has a great rapport with both Sajid and David.”
The insider adds, “While the film’s unit has been shooting in [Mumbai], besides an extensive schedule in London, Salman shot for his portions at a Mumbai studio.
“He gave two days for his scenes in the film. At that time, the vibes on the sets were of happiness and fun. It was like a mini celebration.”
Salman, Sajid, and David have been good friends over the years, and have worked with each other separately during these years, but they came together as a trio only after 21 long years.
“When Salman was shooting for his portions [in the sequel], all of them had many memories to share and were reminiscent of those days when they shot for the film in 1996,” says the insider.
