Elli AvrRam says she can do item songs with equal conviction

Despite being in the film industry for over four years, actor Elli AvrRam (left) prefers to take it slow and steady. After making her debut with Mickey Virus (2013), she worked opposite Kapil Sharma in Kis Kisko Pyaa Karoon (2015) and was last seen in Naam Shabana, where she had a cameo. She played the role of a sex worker and did a special song sequence too. Asked if it’s a conscious choice to not take up frequent offers, Elli says she believes in waiting for the right project.

“Whatever comes my way has to be tempting enough for me to say yes,” she says. “If you end up doing something that you are not happy about, it ends up being a failure and you feel even worse,” she adds.

Elli also featured in a music video couple of years ago. Did she ever fear getting typecast and not bagging lead roles? The actor says that it’s all in the mind.“I’d rather think that I am so versatile that I can do anything that makes me happy. If a nice item song comes up, which I feel excited about, why won’t I do it?”

Drawing comparisons to even the A-list actors who do item songs in films, Elli says it’s only sensible to branch out and try more things. “I am not restricted to [just] acting and I can do item songs too, with equal conviction. So many actresses have done item numbers and at the same time worked in great movies too. In Bollywood, you can’t decide someone’s destiny,” she adds.
