He may not be as fond of romantic films as he is of other genres, but actor

Shah Rukh Khan (above) now watches love stories for his daughter Suhana’s (17) sake. SRK says that contrary to what some might think, he doesn’t dislike the genre.

“It’s not that I don’t like love stories. But the kind of person I am, I enjoy comedy and action [more]. I like love stories a lot, too. Because of my daughter now, I see a lot of love stories and I find them beautiful,” SRK says.

Known as the King of Romance, SRK has won hearts with his films such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995). Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1997) Dil Toh Paagal Hai (1997). Far from fading, his charm has just become more endearing over the years. So much so, that director Imtiaz Ali complimented him on his style of romance in his upcoming film, Jab Harry met Sejal.

“During the filming of a song, the most touching moment was when Imtiaz came to me and said, ‘aap abhi bhi pyaar waisa he karte ho jaise aapne shuruat ki thi’...”, says SRK. “By some chance, some of the love stories that I’ve been a part of, have done so well, people have loved them for years. I love doing romantic stories,” he adds.

The 51-year-old actor credited Imtiaz and co-star Anushka Sharma for helping him create beautiful moments on screen. “I am fortunate to have a director like Imtiaz and a friend like Anushka Sharma because I am shy. It helps to open up. (And then) you have music directors and lyricist who are giving it so much more than perhaps I can give,” he says.
