SHEKHAR KAPUR WANTS TO MAKE A SERIES ON KRISHNA

With films such as Masoom (1983) Mr. India (1987) and Bandit Queen, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur made a mark in the film industry. Now, he wishes to make a movie series on Hindu deity, Lord Krishna.

“It’s my big dream to make a series of films on the life of Krishna. In today’s context, the story of Krishna is really very important,” says Kapur.

He’s keen to depict the myriad sides to Krishna on screen. “Krishna is a lover, and a warrior. Imagine to be able to tell teachings of the Bhagvad Gita,” he shares. “That moment when Krishna is revealing his truth out to Arjun on the battlefield of Kurukshetra...and when Arjun is unwilling to let go of the bow and arrow. To be able to put that on screen will be incredible,” he adds. He feels that this subject will “consume him” for the rest of his life.
