Wiz Khalifa coming for first India show
Wiz Khalifa fans, hold your breath. The stylish American rapper-actor is all geared up for his maiden visit to India — he’s expected at an upcoming multi-genre music festival in Goa, scheduled for December 27-29. Khalifa will be headlining the second day of the festival. The event will also see performances by American singer-songwriter Jason Derulo and EDM bigwig Martin Garrix.
Looking forward to the visit, Khalifa says, “I’ve heard a lot of great stuff about India and how Indian hospitality is phenomenal. I’m quite excited to hear Indian music, taste Indian food, do some local sightseeing and maybe meet some Bollywood folks. I’m going to bring the biggest party of the year to Goa and Time Out 72 this December, and I have a lot of surprises for my fans. Stay tuned!”
The artist, who has to his credit hits such as See You Again; Black and Yellow; Payphone; Young, Wild & Free; Work Hard, Play Hard, is a name to reckon with on the hip-hop scene. He has collaborated with The Weeknd, Maroon 5, Fall Out Boy, Charlie Puth, and Snoop Dogg, among others. Along with his music, Khalifa’s high-end style blended with streetsmart swag has ensured a wide fan base.
As per sources, the organisers of the music festival are also trying to get rappers Raftaar and Badshah to collaborate with Khalifa on stage. But this is still only in the talks stage.
