Sonam takes a Diwali break from Delhi shoot schedule

Diwali has always been synonymous with lights, celebrations, and family time. For actor Sonam Kapoor, too, one of the highlights of the festival is spending time with her near and dear ones.

Till date, Sonam has never missed celebrating Diwali with her family. An insider says, “She is extremely close to her family and so, like all these years, she wants to be with them this time, too.”

That’s why Sonam has decided to take a five-day break, from the Delhi shooting schedule of Veere Di Wedding, to celebrate Diwali with her family. “It’s her favourite festival, so she’ll be back to Mumbai just in time for Diwali,” says the insider.

Sources say that Sonam will land in Mumbai on October 15 evening. “She’ll shoot on October 16 and 17 for the [Sanjay] Dutt biopic and then will be busy with Diwali celebrations from October 18 to 20. Then, she’ll be shooting for Veere Di Wedding on October 21 and 22 in Mumbai,” says the insider.

It goes without saying that the Kapoor family is happy that Sonam would make it for their annual Diwali celebrations. “The film team has been continously at work but Sonam requested for a break in advance, so as to not miss Diwali in Mumbai,” says the insider. The film is being co-produced by Sonam’s sister, Rhea. The actor has been based in Delhi for almost a month now, shooting with her co-stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania.

“She’ll resume the shooting in Delhi after Diwali,” says the insider. Sonam couldn’t be reached for a comment.
