Kriti won’t rush to take up films

With four years and as many films behind her in Bollywood, actor Kriti Sanon is following a slow but steady pace. “I don’t want to follow any rules or restrictions. I just follow my heart. There might be a time, when I am doing more films, where I like three scripts in a row. I would go mad and have just about no time; but then, you can’t predict,” says the 27-year-old actor.

“Sitting at home,” is not something that Kriti likes. “But sometimes, things are not in your hands, and at times, there are films that I have signed, but for one or the other reason, they don’t start immediately. There are films that take a little longer than usual to make. Some require more time to prep for, and you can’t take anything else at the time,” she explains.

The actor, who featured in Heropanti (2014), adds that one has to listen to their heart while signing a film. “Before signing a film, I think from the audience’s point of view as to whether they would like it or not. And then, I follow my instinct and gut feeling.”

Kriti believes in destiny working behind actors choosing films. “You choose films, but sometimes, films also choose you. So, if you are not doing something for a while, it might be because there is something else, something much better, waiting to land in your lap.”

She is clear that she won’t take up projects for the heck of staying busy. “I wouldn’t rush into something only because I have time on my hands. It always has to be for the right reasons,” she says.
