Birthday girl Zaira plans day out with audience

What’s your idea of a birthday celebration? In all likelihood, it would involve cakes, balloons and parties. But actor Zaira Wasim, who rose to fame with her powerful outing in last year’s Dangal, clearly has different ideas about it. So, she has come up with an interesting plan to celebrate her birthday.

“Zaira, who celebrates her birthday today (she turns 17), has decided that she will celebrate and spend as much time as possible with the audience since her new film, Secret Superstar released on Friday,” says an insider. Secret Superstar is Zaira’s second film with Aamir Khan, after Dangal.

As a part of her plan, Zaira will be visiting several theatres across Mumbai to watch parts of the film with the audience and also get “first-hand reaction from them.” “Since Zaira was very busy with the promotion of the film, she couldn’t travel back (to Kashmir, her home state) in time to celebrate her birthday with family. So instead of wasting the day, she came up with the idea to spend it with audiences,” says the insider.

Zaira, on her part, admits that her new film is “the best birthday gift that Aamir sir could have given me.” She adds: “I’m excited about spending my birthday with the audience. The response that I’ve been getting from everyone even before the release of the film has been so overwhelming.”
