High on tech, low on price

These featureloaded smartphones will make your life easy without pinching your pocket

SMART ‘N’ SUAVE

Honor 8 — the price of which falls just under ₹20,000 — has Huawei’s octa-core Kirin 950 CPU and 4GB RAM, making the interface fast, in turn allowing you to switch between apps with ease. Its USP is that it catches the 4G signal much better than other similar-priced phones. Another highlight is the phone’s smooth finger print scanner. The battery life is also great. The drawback, however, is that the phone is slippery.

THE MULTITASKER

Priced at around ₹17,000, Samsung Galaxy On Max offers a 5.7-inch HD screen and is powered by MediaTek Helio P25 (MT6757V) processor with four cores clocked at 2.39GHz. This means that the phone doesn’t hang — definitely a plus point for gamers. Its camera (13MP front and rear) is another prime feature, giving you clear picture even in lowlight conditions. The battery-life doesn’t meet expectations.

JACK OF ALL TRADES

Lenovo Z2 Plus allows you to get all your work done without any fuss — be it work presentations, email or browsing the Internet. Priced around ₹15,000, it has a RAM of 3GB and has a 2.15GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Unlike most smartphones these days, it isn’t heavy or too big to hold. Battery life is decent, but the camera (13MP; front: 8MP) is average for its price. Storage is 32 GB, but not expandable.
