SUMEET VYAS: DON’T WANT TO JUST PUT GAGS IN TRIPLING

Actor Sumeet Vyas, who has made a name for himself after writing and acting in web series Tripling, says he doesn’t want to rush into writing the second season, but understands that viewers and fans are already excited about it.

“I understand that people are excited about the second season, but I don’t want to rush it. We are still in the process of writing the second season, and only after that’s finished, would we be able to give you clarity on when it might air,” says Sumeet.

The 34-year-old says that the team behind the series has been discussing and brainstorming for ideas for a long time. “I have spent two months trying to get ideas and writing it. The most important things has to be a common concept around which the season will revolve,” he says.

Elaborating why a focus is needed, he says, “If there’s no common concept— something that provides a connect with the audience — it holds no meaning. It can’t be a show full of just gags. It should have some meaning to it as well.”

The actor, who will be seen in Veere Di Wedding opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan, feels that digital platforms are a pathbreaking platform for artists to put out their content. “It’s a great thing, and people can put up whatever they like, or want to talk about, and get appreciated for it. I mean, look at Bhuvan Bam’s BB Ki Vines. It’s such a great concept, and he got all his fame through it,” says Sumeet, who first shot to fame for his portrayal of the Mikesh Chaudhary, in web series Permanent Roommates.
