‘Didn’t want to walk on the ramp all my life’
Shraddha Musale rose to fame with the portrayal of Dr Tarika in the TV series CID. And it goes without saying that the model-turnedactor is thankful for the show — that has been running for almost two decades — for bringing her to the limelight.
The 33-year old, who started off as a ramp model, shares that initially, she wasn’t even interested in becoming an actor. “People plan well in advance what they want to do in life. I wanted to get into the hospitality sector, and I worked there for six to seven months. Soon I started losing interest. It was then that I entered modelling. But after a point, I told myself ‘I don’t want to walk on the ramp all my life’. That’s when I joined a theatre group,” says the actor.
Shraddha goes on to reveal that CID might have been a turning point in her acting career, but initially, she didn’t even know that such a show existed. “CID was on air at the time (2007) when I wanted to venture into this profession. But I didn’t even know about it. I chanced upon watching it one day because of my aunt. I was immediately convinced that given my personality, and my tall and athletic physique, a role in such a show would be perfect. Fortunately, I landed the role as a forensic expert,” adds Shraddha.
The actor is now playing the role of a queen in the epic show Porus and is quite excited about her character.
