- Shreya Mukherjee

“When people close to me say that they see positive changes in me as I grow, it makes me work harder on myself. Life always surprises you with something new, and I want to be capable enough to handle them,” says Harshvardhan Rane, who turns 34 today. The actor, who debuted in Bollywood with Sanam Teri Kasam (2016), shares that he’s been visiting a temple alone for the last ten years for his birthday. This year, for the first time, he has decided to celebrate his special day with friends who are not from the industry.

Ask him about people who never forget to wish him on his special day, Harshvardhan is quick to mention his sister and his fans. “What makes the day most special is the love I get from my fans. They’ve started making plans almost 50 days before my birthday. In fact, I have been receiving letters, too. While some have nice messages, there are some who have requested to meet me personally on my birthday,” the actor shares emotionally.

Talking about his best birthday gift and memory, Harshvardhan reveals, “Last year, John Abraham not just wished me on my birthday but also told me that I could take his bike for a spin. The offer itself was big for me though I never encashed it, but he [John] considers his bikes as his babies. As far as best birthday gift is concerned, it has to be my film [JP Dutta’s] Paltan. It’s my birthday present to myself and I feel really proud to be a part of it.”
