Nikita admires Akshay Kumar’s acting prowess

Nikita Dutta started her journey in showbiz with the film Lekar Hum Deewana Dil (2014). Though the film tanked at the box office, Nikita managed to get noticed. Later, she was seen in two TV shows on the small screen, Dream Girl — Ek Ladki Deewani Si and Ek Duje Ke Vaaste.

Currently busy with her third show, Nikita is also a part of the Akshay Kumar Mouni Roy starrer sports drama, Gold, that is being helmed by Reema Kagti.

The actor is reportedly paired opposite actor Sunny Kaushal, brother of actor Vicky Kaushal who is known for Masaan (2015).

However, Nikita is tightlipped about the project, except that she is having a great time working on the film.

Asked if she has any scenes with Akshay, Nikita says that she’s yet to get details about the shoot, but she has been told that the superstar will be there.

“I didn’t get a chance to shoot with Akshay Kumar yet but I’m looking forward to meeting him. He’s someone I look up to; there’s so much to learn. I admire him for the kind of films he’s done and also how he manages to pull off each character with distinction,” she says.

Glad to be a part of Gold, Nikita adds that these are the kind of films she wants to be associated with. “I can’t do films for the heck of doing them and I’ve always maintained this. Success or failure [of a film] might not be in my hands but choosing a good script is, and that’s what I believe in doing. I follow the same principle while choosing TV shows, and I feel blessed that till now things have worked out really well,” says Nikita.

On the subject of reality shows, the actor says, “I haven’t given reality shows a thought. If I like the format then I might.”
