I thank the fashion police: Parineeti

- Pooja Sharma

Parineeti Chopra has had a positive innings at the box office in the year gone by, with Golmaal Again breaking the box office. The actor, now gearing up for Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, has lately also been talked about for her physical transformation. Here, she talks about fashion and fitness.

Do you give inputs to your stylist when it comes to putting together a look?

I try, but my stylist rejects them (laughs). One can only try. All my fashion credit goes to my stylist Sanjana Batra. She has really changed the game for me. I take no credit for my style.

And the physical transformation?

I will take credit for that.

If a role now requires you to put on weight, will you?

Oh my god! Six months ago, I would have replied with a vehement ‘no’, because I had just become fit. And I cannot go through that again, it’s a year long process. And mentally, it’s the most difficult task for a food lover like me. But somehow for the love of films, I would maybe do it. But, it really has to be worth it putting yourself through that unhealthy situation - because to lose that weight would be difficult. I can put on weight in one month. But to get back would be very tough.

What’s the one fashion trend you feel should never come back?

Honestly, there are many. A capri, for one. I only like them when they are gym clothes, otherwise when people wear capris, I am like save me! Also all leopard and animal print designs on an outfit are a complete no.

What’s your take on the concept of fashion policing?

I thank the fashion police because they helped me improve my fashion sense. But I am doing well, so I like them now (laughs).
