TRENDS 2018: SHEEN IS IN, MATTE IS OUT
From illuminated foundation to green smokey eyes, here’s all that’ll be in vogue this year
Bling, if done the right way, can do wonders to your look. While bling never really went out of fashion, this year it will overshine everything else.
Unapologetic gold and silver will be popular like never before, says makeup artist Richa Agarwal. Glossy highlighters, glittery eyeshadows, glossy lips and illuminated foundation will not only be a part of your party makeup but even every day look. But instead of clubbing everything together, you can pick and highlight one element at a time. Here’s rounding up the top trends.
Hair: Retro big curls will be popular in 2018. They make for a very natural, effortlessly glamorous look. Cascading waves and soft curls in the ower half of the hair will also e in trend. Sleek, high onytail and braided ponytails ill also be a hit.
Eyes: We will take a break om dark, more specifically lack smokey eyes. Smokey eyes achieved with deep shades will be popular. “Olive green is the colour of season and the same can be used to give your eyes a bit of smokey look. It can be made more interesting with sheen,” says makeup artist Naina Arora. Brown smokey eyes with some shimmer will be popular.
Lips: Dramatic red lips will be in trend, says beauty expert Shahnaz Husain. It can be made party perfect with a touch of high intensity gloss. For day time, she picks glossy pink, fuschia or coral red .
Eye Liner: Blended look of eyeliners will work wonders and can be achieved through any liner, be it liquid, gel or pencil. Makeup artist Kanchan suggests going for retro clumpy lashes.
Base: The base will be feather light. The idea is to create a natural, healthy, glowy look .You can add a dose of natural sheen by mixing a drop of good illumination with your foundation.
